ANOTHER win by lightly-raced Moveitmoveit at home on Sunday ensured Kendrick Racing saddled up winners over all three days of the weekend.
Moveitmoveit’s heart-stopping win in a Class 2 (1400m) came after a double at the Friday night meeting with Fat Fingers and Rose Of Duporth, as well as a Saturday win on the Gold Coast poly track with Early Thoughts.
Ridden by inform Group 1-winning jockey Ben Thompson, MoveitMoveit (main photo) got up on the inside in the final bound in an extremely close photo finish as $2.15 favourite.
The four-year-old gelding now has three wins and one second from five career starts.
“Moveitmoveit has overcome a lot of problems and is building a great record,” trainer Stuart Kendrick said.
“He is looking for more ground but showed plenty of determination to win,” he said.
“He had to carry 59kg and knuckled down to win right on the post.
“Ben Thompson, who is in terrific form, gave the owners a good report and believes he will be a good horse in time over more distance.”
Early Thoughts is proving to be one of the toughest horses in the stable following his win in a Benchmark 70 (1900m) at the Gold Coast.
Ridden by inform apprentice Bailey Wheeler, who was also aboard for the Friday night double, Early Thoughts ($1.75-fav) won by one-and-a-half lengths, despite a testing run on the poly.
“He was taken on throughout the whole race but fought them off to win well,” said Kendrick.
“It was great to see him bounce back after a very unlucky run last start.”
