A THRILLING win in the Archer consolation race, the Fitzroy, for Lost In Transit was part of a great day out in Rockhampton for Kendrick Racing.
One of the most consistent horses in the stable, Lost In Transit (main photo) kicked off a double for the stable when he won the Open (1300m).
Ridden by Kyle Wilson-Taylor, he prevailed in an extremely close finish as a $21 chance.
“It was a terrific ride by Kyle,” said trainer Stuart Kendrick. “He settled back and weaved a passage before sticking his nose out for the win,” Kendrick said.
“He has had a great preparation and will freshen up in the paddock for a few days,” he said.
“He looks a perfect horse for either the Glasshouse or the Rockhampton Newmarket.”
Itza Motza, who has been unlucky in a number of runs this preparation, completed the double for the stable and Wilson-Taylor combination.
He won a Benchmark 58 (1300m) by just under a length as a $4.30 chance.
“It was great to see him put it all together with a strong win,” Kendrick said. “Again, it was a brilliant ride by Kyle,” he said. “The horse showed he has more wins in store with a dominant win on the last race of the program.
“We took five horses to Rockhampton for two wins, two seconds and a third.”
