Storm Force Ten has delivered a stirring return to form at Rockhampton.
He claimed a Class 1 (1400m) on Saturday (March 14), rewarding the persistence of his patient ownership group.
Trained by Stuart Kendrick and ridden by talented apprentice Stephanie Tierney, the five‑year‑old was forced to dig deep in the final stages but showed admirable resilience to fend off a determined challenger over the concluding 200 metres.
Kendrick said the victory was particularly satisfying given the gelding’s long list of setbacks.
“Patience was rewarded for the owners of Storm Force Ten with a good, tough win,” Kendrick said.
“He has had a lot of issues, including throat surgery, but it was good to see him back in the winner’s stall.”
The Sunshine Coast trainer praised Tierney’s composure and strength over the concluding stages.
“He had to be tough the last 200 metres and fended off the second horse under a strong ride from Steph,” he said.
