Air We Go has bounced back to his best at the Sunshine Coast.
The four-year-old scored a determined victory in a Benchmark 65 Handicap (1000m) on Sunday (July 19).
The Stuart Kendrick-trained gelding showed plenty of grit under apprentice rider Steph Tierney, fighting hard in the straight to score a narrow win.
After being challenged in the run home, Air We Go dug deep to repel his rivals and return to the winner’s stall, providing a pleasing result for connections after an encouraging but luckless first-up effort.
Kendrick was delighted to see the talented sprinter back in winning form.
“It was great to see,” he said.
“He has been a horse that has always shown ability, including city wins.
“First up he was in a speed battle and didn’t finish off, but was tough on Sunday, fighting back.
“Hopefully, he can get another city win this preparation.”
