Old Faithful, ridden by Jag Guthmann-Chester, bolted in at Ipswich.

Old Faithful has built on his recent resurgence.

He scored a commanding win in a Benchmark 0-58 Handicap (2150m) at Ipswich on Friday, August 7.
Ridden by Jag Guthmann-Chester Old Faithful ($2.30-fav) dictated the race and was untroubled, winning by more than three-and-a-half lengths.
Trainer Stuart Kendrick was full of praise for horse and rider.

“It was a great win by Old Faithful and he was perfectly ridden by Jag,” Kendrick said.

The trainer revealed the gelding’s progress had not come without challenges, making the recent run of form particularly pleasing.

“He has been a horse with a lot of issues, but is finally putting it all together, having now won two from his last three,” Kendrick said.

The emphatic performance over 2150 metres also gave Kendrick confidence that Old Faithful has an even brighter future over longer distances.

“He looks like a horse that will stay 2400 metres and we will look to try and win another couple through his classes this preparation.”
