Former Victorian Terrax has announced himself as a horse to follow.
Ridden by Ben Thompson, Terrax broke through for co-trainers Stuart and Bayley Kendrick at the Sunshine Coast on Friday evening (October 9)
Starting at $7 in the 4UP Maiden (1000m), Terrax was sent straight to the lead by Thompson and never looked in danger, defeating a $1.50 favourite by one-and-a-half lengths.
The win was Terrax’s second start for the Kendrick stable and his first appearance since a spell, with the gelding showing the ability that convinced connections to acquire him.
Co-trainer Bayley Kendrick was full of praise for both the horse and Thompson’s ride after the breakthrough success.
“It was an impressive win by Terrax,” Kendrick said.
“He is a horse we purchased believing he had good city-class ability, and he showed that leading all the way,” he said.
“He had a setback and the owners have been patient, so congratulations to them on a good win and a promising type.”
