Steph Tierney and Agenda Setter winning on the poly track at the Sunshine Coast.

Agenda Setter has put a string of frustrating runs on rain-affected tracks behind him.

He delivered a dominant performance at the Sunshine Coast on Friday, May 1, charging away with an emphatic victory in the Benchmark 55 (1000m) on the poly track.

Trained by Stuart Kendrick and ridden with confidence by Steph Tierney, Agenda Setter justified his $2.60 starting price, accelerating sharply in the straight to score by more than three lengths.

The win marked a welcome turnaround after a testing campaign on rain-affected tracks.
“It has been a frustrating campaign so far for Agenda Setter on wet tracks,” Kendrick said.
“He really appreciated getting back onto the dry surface of the poly track and showed what he could do with an impressive win,” he said.

“Steph rode him beautifully. She took the small gap at the top of the straight and, once he balanced up, he exploded to win going away.
“We’ll see how he pulls up over the next few days, whether he has a spell now or we give him another chance if the tracks dry out.

“He showed that he’s definitely got plenty of promise.”
