Dukedom, ridden by Jake Bayliss, breaking through in a Sunshine Coast Maiden (1300m) on Sunday, September 14.

WELL-BRED maiden company winner Dukedom has a well-known owner.

“He’s a horse by Snitzel and is owned by Gerry Harvey,” trainer Stuart Kendrick said after the win in a Maiden (1300m) at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday (September 14)
“He is a big raw type and will get better with more time,” Kendrick said.
“But he was still impressive over the 1300 metres.”

Ridden by Jake Bayliss, Dukedom ($3.50) broke through at his fifth career start and second run back from a spell.

“He (Bayliss) put him in the perfect spot and then when under pressure at the 200 showed his ability to win going away,” Kendrick said.
“He will now step up in distance and I think he will make a very nice stayer.”
The win marked two maiden wins in as many days for lightly raced four-year-old from the stable.
On Saturday, Shipping Lane ($11), ridden by Brandon Lerena, finished with a rush to break through at his fourth career start in Maiden-SW (1100m) on the Gold Coast poly.

“It was good to see shipping Lane repay the patience of his owners,” Kendrick said.
“He has always shown a lot of ability but got very sick last preparation and it has taken a lot of work to get him back,” he said.
“He was ridden well and after a couple of gear changes it seemed to do the trick.
“Hopefully, we can see him put it all together now and go on and win some more races.”
