Redford has returned to winning form with a commanding victory at his home track.
Ridden by Ben Thompson, he romped home by one-and-a-quarter lengths in an Open (1400m) as a $3.30 favourite on Sunday (February 22).
It was a welcome return to form, having finished unplaced at two runs since winning at Eagle Farm in December.
Trainer Stuart Kendrick praised Thompson for a great ride, which helped the horse return to the winner’s stall.
“He hasn’t had any luck at his last couple of runs, but back to his home track he was given a terrific run and put the race beyond doubt at the top of the straight,” Kendrick said.
“It was a good confidence builder for him,” he said.
“We’ll now look to head back into town and, hopefully, secure another city win.”
