FUNNY Money is a bridesmaid no more.
The speedy Capitalist three-year-old filly broke through at her fourth career start in a Maiden (900m) at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
It followed runner-up efforts at her first three racetrack outings. Ridden by Tiffani Brooker, Funny Money ($2.80-fav) would not be denied, getting home over betting ring rival Evan Almighty ($2.90) in a tight finish to the scamper.
“It was great for connections to get a win on the board after three seconds,” said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
“She is a well-bred Capitalist filly and we’re keen to try and ride her quietly when we get the chance,” he said.
