ZOUSTAR five-year-old Torque Leica Star has boosted her future broodmare value with a city win.
She made it back-to-back wins with victory in a Benchmark 65 (2143m) at Eagle Farm on Friday (September 20).
Ridden by Nikita Beriman, Torque Leica Star ($8) won by more than a length, following her last-start victory on the Gold Coast poly track over 1900m.
Trainer Stuart Kendrick said the mare had a terrific pedigree.
“She is also a lovely looking mare, so that city win has definitely put some residual value on her for the owners as a broodmare,” he said.
“She has now won six races and has been very consistent, so it is a great result for a terrific bunch of people.
“She was well-ridden by Nikita, given a lovely run just off the speed, and was too strong at the end of the 2100 metres.
“That is good to know as she can now target one of the staying races on a Saturday and hopefully add another city win on her pedigree.”
