A QUINELLA with State A Fact beating stablemate Snow Show was the middle leg of a treble at Kendrick Racing’s Sunshine Coast headquarters on Sunday (November 10).
That success came after a win at the Gold Coast by Rustic Boom on Saturday, giving the stable four winners for the weekend.
Trainer Start Kendrick said it was fantastic to see State A Fact (main photo) break through as the horse had battled injury issues.
Ridden Kyle Wilson-Taylor, State A Fact ($3.20-fav) won at his second run back from a 12-month spell in a Maiden (1400m).
He beat Snow Show ($13), which also ran well at his second career start, by just under a length-and-a-half.
“It was a strong win by State of Fact,” Kendrick said.
“He’s had his share of injury issues and the team at Hinterland Thoroughbreds have done a terrific job rehabilitating him,” he said.
“His first-up run was good, and he backed that up with a strong win over 1400 and should get better as he gets over more ground.”
The runner-up Show Snow was ridden by apprentice Jace McMurray, who went one better in the next race when he piloted Zhuang Shi ($3.50) home in a Benchmark 65 (1400m).
“It was pleasing to see Zhuang Shi get back to form third-up from a spell,” Kendrick said.
“He has been a very consistent horse and, hopefully, he can go on with it now and possibly be aimed at a Country Cup run on Magic Millions Day again,” he said.
Earlier, Divine Okay started the Sunday meeting off on the right note, with a win in a Benchmark 65 (1000m).
Ridden by apprentice Rob Thorburn, he weaved a passage from back in the field to score first-up from a spell as a $7 chance.
“It was a great ride by Rob,” said Kendrick.
“The horse finished hard to show he is set for a good preparation,” he said.
An apprentice was also aboard Rustic Boom when he won at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
Ridden by Sariah Champkin, Rustic Boom ($3.70) won a Benchmark 62 (1050m).
“He showed his liking for the poly track, leading all of the way,” said Kendrick.
