A CITY win by Avolonte capped off two big days for the Archer Park colours.
Avolonte ($6.50), ridden by apprentice Leah Kilner, won a Benchmark 65 (1100m) at Doomben on Monday, May 30.
“It’s good for the Archer Park boys.  We had a nice winner there with Sebring Girl for them yesterday at Ipswich and now this filly today,” said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
“She’s always shown plenty and she’s really starting to put it all together and do everything right, which is good to see,” he said.
“It was a great ride by Leah.”
Avolonte, third up and coming off placings at Ipswich and the Sunshine Coast poly track, raced just behind the two leaders before making a winning move in the straight.
“We said before the race we should box seat, which would be perfect,” said Kendrick.
“Coming to the turn she just needed that little bit of luck and it was all over.”
