STAR Of Michelin is unbeaten when third-up from a spell.
The Jet Spur six-year-old kept his remarkable record intact when he stormed home to win an Open (1600m) at the Sunshine Coast Friday night meeting (January 6).
It was sixth time he’s won third-up from a spell.
“It certainly is a reliable racing pattern,” said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
The record looked in doubt when Star Of Michelin ($4.60) blew the start and trailed the field.
But jockey Justin Huxtable didn’t panic and the horse eventually tacked on before unleashing a strong finish.
“He just got there,” said Kendrick.
It was Star Of Michelin’s eight win from 33 career starts.
