Highland Son, ridden by James Orman, completed the double for the stable-jockey combination with a commanding win.

TWO-YEAR-OLD Torque Bossanova proved the wait was worth it with an explosive turn of foot to win on debut.
The Showtime colt, ridden by James Orman, accelerated past his rivals with ease to win a QTIS 2YO Maiden (1200m) on Sunday, March 26.
He was back in the run, but won convincingly by one-and-a-half lengths as a $5.50 chance, to hand the Kendrick Racing and Orman combination the first leg of a winning double for the day.
“He was bought last year at Magic Millions and was paid up as a ladies’ horse,” said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
“But he just wasn’t ready for the early two-year-old races,” he said.
“By first-season sire Showtime, he’s a half-brother to Rockhampton Newmarket winner Essington and stakes winner Dreams Aplenty.
“He should improve further from the run and will get his chance to head towards the Queensland carnival.”
Highland Son ($4.80) completed the double later in the afternoon when he proved the Sunshine Coast 1000m is his pet distance.
After no luck first-up when second, he showed his true ability with a commanding win.
Ridden off the speed by Orman, he got to the centre of the track and finishing strongly to win going away from them in a Benchmark 68 (1000m).
Kendrick said the winning double was a great way to finish off the day following a successful open day at the stables that morning.
