SEBRING two-year-old Kenny Boy’s racetrack debut was certainly memorable.
It was a winning debut in an Eagle Farm 2YO Maiden (1300m) but only after success in the stewards’ room.
Kenny Boy ($5) finished with a rush but went down narrowly to Miss Got ($4.40) before jockey James Orman fired in a protest.
The protest, alleging interference over the concluding 200 metres, was successful, providing a dramatic win for Kenny Boy and connections.
“It was good to get a winner for Harry and Margaret Reed from Reed Racing,” said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
“They’ve been great supporters of the stable,” he said.
“It was a big effort from the horse, winning at his first start over 1300 metres at Eagle Farm.
“He’s a well-bred son of Sebring and should get better as he gets older and over more ground.”
