WRITTEN Tycoon filly Purple Diamond has been a slow burn.
The three-year-old filly broke through at career start number four at Ipswich last Friday (March 5).
Trainer Stuart Kendrick is hopeful she will now strike a purple patch of form following that breakthrough win.
“Patience has paid off with her,” Kendrick said.
“She has always shown ability but has been immature,” he said.
“The owners have allowed me to take our time and I think she will keep improving with time.”
Purple Diamond ($2.80), ridden by Luke Tarrant, won a Maiden Plate (1350m) by a half-length.
She is part-owned by Reed Racing.
