FIVE-YEAR-OLD Canny Be Better has regained winning form with a storming finish at Gatton.
Ridden by Luke Tarrant, he went back from the outside gate and found himself 10 lengths off the leaders at one stage, with a hectic pace being set in front.
But he stormed home over the top of them to arrive just in time in a Benchmark 58 (1400m) as an $8 chance on Tuesday, August 15.
“It was good to see him back in winning form after a couple of setbacks this preparation,” said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
“It was a good ride by Luke Tarrant, not panicking when he found himself a long way back from the leaders,” he said.
“He timed the run to perfection.”
