TWO inform gallopers notched back-to-back wins to land the stable a Sunshine Coast double under lights.
Kendrick Racing and jockey Jake Bayliss combined to win with Javaja (main photo) and Tojaki in successive races on Friday night (October 13).
Javaja ($1.85-fav), a Justify three-year-old, made it two wins from as many career starts in a CG&E Benchmark 62 (1400m).
“He’s a really promising horse,” trainer Stuart Kendrick said.
“He’s still a big kid. He sort of gets to them – has a think about it,” he said.
“That’s going to get his confidence up – another win tonight.
“I think next preparation he might be a really nice horse.
“He’s just been a bit of a work in progress. He’s quite a lazy horse.”
Tojaki, also a $1.85 favourite, won a F&M Benchmark (1400m).
“She’s a lovely big Zoustar mare. She was impressive the other day (when she won a maiden 1200m),” Kendrick said.
“She’s a bit the same (as Javaja). She’s been a big girl and she’s taken a long time to mature,” he said.
“Hopefully, it pays dividends for us now.”
