What A Weekend will target a couple of QTIS races after breaking through in impressive style at Ipswich.
The Better Than Ready three-year-old won at his fifth career start and second-up from a spell in a Maiden-SW (1200m) on Thursday (November 23).
Ridden by Jake Bayliss, What A Weekend ($2.10-fav) was running away from them on the line to win by one-and-a-half lengths.
Trainer Stuart Kendrick said it was good to see What A Weekend put it all together.
“He has been a very immature horse mentally, but has his share of ability,” he said.
“He had no luck first-up. This time a great ride by Jake put him within striking distance of the leader.
“He then knuckled down for a strong win.”
