KENDRICK Racing has had a stellar couple of days.
The stable followed a midweek city win with highly promising two-year-old Italian Riveria (main photo) on Wednesday with a treble in Rockhampton.
That treble in Rockhampton on Thursday (April 18) included a triumphant win in a lucrative feature race.
Under The Cap won the Capricornia Yearling Sale QTIS 3&4YO Classic Handicap (1300m), which is a $100,000 race.
Italian Riveria ($1.35-fav), ridden by Michael Rodd, kicked off the fantastic couple of days with a win in a QTIS 2YO (1350m) at Doomben.
“He’s a promising two-year-old and has now won two of three starts,” said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
“He should continue to get better over more ground,” he said.
“We’ll possibly look to target a couple of the winter carnival races during the carnival.”
The Rockhampton treble (photos from top to bottom) were all ridden by stable apprentice Cody Collis.
It kicked off when Tour De Field ($7) won a Maiden (1200m).
“It was great to see him break his maiden,” Kendrick said.
“The breakthrough followed a second at Rockhampton last start,” he said.
Hard Reyva ($4.60) then notched his eighth career win when he took out the Mayor’s Cup Open (1200m).
“He has now earned prizemoney of $150,000,” Kendrick said.
Under The Cap ($6) saved the best for last when saluted in the feature race.
“He was first-up from a spell, having not started since September last year over 1800 metres, but had a couple of trials under his belt,” Kendrick said.
“They (the Rockhampton winners) were all ridden to perfection by our apprentice Cody Collis,” he said.
“As always, a big thank you to Mully and Adrian who do a great job looking after our horses while in Rockhampton.”
