DEFIANT Boom is unbeaten this preparation.
The inform gelding make it two city wins in a row with a tough victory in a 3YO C&G (1100m) at Doomben on Saturday, August 17.
The horse won the last start of his two-year-old season in a midweek maiden at the same course first-up from a spell.
He then won the first start of his three-year-old season in metropolitan company on Saturday.
Ridden by Bailey Wheeler, Defiant Boom ($3.20-fav) did it at both ends.
Stable representative Nathan Kendrick said it was a tough victory, with Defiant Boom having to do plenty of work early to find the lead.
“He was entitled to stop late, but kept kicking for a determined win,” Kendrick said.
“He’s unbeaten this preparation and hopefully has more city wins to come,” he said.
“He’ll most likely to go the three-year-old plate over 1200 at Doomben in a couple of weeks.”
