TIDAL Creek took no harm from a quick back-up.
The six-year-old Snitzel gelding won an Open (1615m) at Doomben on Saturday, August 24, just seven days after his last race-day outing.
Ridden by apprentice Bailey Wheeler, Tidal Creek ($2.90-fav) was strong at the end of the mile, winning by nearly a length.
He’d finished runner-up over 1600 metres in Class 6 company at the same circuit a week ago.
“It was a good win on the short back-up after a good second last week,” said stable representative Nathan Kendrick.
“This looked a good race for him, down in weight and with a better draw,” Kendrick said.
“And that is how things panned out.”
