LUVA Flutta’s pink silks are a giveaway that he’s ladies’ horse.
His all-female connections are eyeing the Magic Millions on the Gold Coast in January and the ladies’ bonus after he won a metropolitan race at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday (November 16).
The Spirit Of Boom colt, ridden by James Orman, won a 2YO (1000m) on a heavy track as $2.60 favourite.
He raced just behind the leaders before hitting the lead and kicking back when challenged to win by a half-length.
It was his second win in a row after breaking through in a Sunshine Coast Maiden in October at his second career start.
Trainer Stuart Kendrick said it was good to see the horse win in that manner.
“We’ve always thought that he’s a horse that’s going to be better being able to take a seat and probably hasn’t had that opportunity at his first two starts,” he said.
“We gave him a little freshen-up after his last win. He’s come back; he looks bigger; he’s stronger and he was a little fresh in the yard.
“We’ve kept him a little bit that way and, hopefully, that now will be enough to sneak us into the Magic Millions.
“As you can see, he’s a ladies’ horse. We kept him a little bit new today.
“The goal is a few weeks away yet.
“I think he’s got plenty of improvement and we’re looking forward to it.”
