A TRIP up the highway has proved just the tonic for Aquaholic.
The three-year-old broke through at his seventh career start, and third this campaign, in Rockhampton today (December 19).
Ridden by apprentice Cody Collis, Aquaholic ($2.80-fav) led all the way to break through in a Maiden (1200m).
Trainer Stuart Kendrick said the horse had always shown plenty of promise and run some good races.
That included a runner-up effort on the Sunshine Coast poly when resuming last month.
“However, it has just taken him awhile to mature,” Kendrick said.
“We took him to Rocky for the experience and, hopefully, now with that win under his belt he will go on with it from here,” he said.
