STAR Turn filly Avolonte is heading to Caloundra Cup Day after back-to-back Doomben wins.
Her latest triumph came in a Class 4 (1200m) on Wednesday, June 15.
Ridden by Robbie Fraad, Avolonte ($11) raced handy and was strong to the line, despite stepping up to the 1200m following her last-start 1100m win at the same circuit.
Trainer Stuart Kendrick said it was good to see the three-year-old putting it all together.
“She had her little problems early on in the barriers and everything else,” he said.
“She has a great bunch of owners in her and it’s really great for Archer Park and all the crew.
“We can just giver her a nice little freshen-up and take her back home for that three-year-old on Cup Day.
“It looks a nice race for her.”
Kendrick said the key to the filly was she was now a lot more relaxed.
“She’s a beautiful looking filly. I’m very happy with her and hopefully we can get a nice Saturday win for them,” he said.
“I always thought she would get it (the 1200m). She just needs to relax.”
