BROOKLYN Daisy hasn’t taken long to break through after moving north to Queensland.
The Trapeze Artist three-year-old filly won at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday (February 23) at her second start for Kendrick Racing.
Although finishing second-last in a small field when resuming, trainer Stuart Kendrick said that effort was better than it looked on paper.
“Her first-up run for the stable was very good,” he said.
“She just got run off her legs over the 1000 metres.
“The step up to 1200 suited and the barrier looked ideal.”
Ridden by Kyle Wilson-Taylor, Brooklyn Daisy ($5), which jumped from the inside gate, was strong at the finish, winning by a half-length.
“It was a good ride by Kyle,” Kendrick said.
“She’s probably a filly that will even appreciate a touch further,” he said.
“She’s really thrived in the stables and looked fantastic in her condition in the parade. She ran right up to those looks.
“She is another horse owned by Aquis, who are terrific supporters of the stable.”
