LOHNRO four-year-old Limero has notched a well-deserved win second-up from a spell.
The consistent gelding scored the breakthrough following a road trip to Rockhampton, where he stepped out in a Class 2 Plate (1200m) as an odd-on favourite.
He had won one race previously, but been placed another six times from 13 starts.
Ridden by Ashley Butler, Limero ($1.85-fav) just held on in a tight finish on Tuesday (February 25).
“He has been a consistent horse but has always seemed to have run into one better on a number of occasions,” said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
“We took him up to Rockhampton just to try and get his confidence back up,” he said.
“It was good to get the win on the board, so hopefully he can put another couple together this preparation.”
