CONSISTENT mare The Darling has showcased her speed with a well-deserved win.
The four-year-old broke through in a Benchmark 68 (800m) at Ipswich on Wednesday, August 25.
Ridden by Kyle Wilson-Taylor, The Darling ($3.20) went to the lead and was full of running to the line to win by a half-length.
“She’s a very consistent mare,” said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
“She’s hardly missed a place this preparation,” he said.
“The inside gate really helps her and it was a great ride by Kyle Wilson-Taylor.”
The Darling is by leading Queensland sire Spirit Of Boom.
“Hopefully, there are a couple of more wins in store before a spell.”
