STREAK Of Winning is living up to his name.
The four-year-old (main photo) made it two wins from as many career starts, with a city victory at the Sunshine Coast on Boxing Day.
Streak Of Winning’s success in a Benchmark 68 (1200m) completed a great day out at headquarters for Kendrick Racing and jockey Kyle Wilson-Taylor, combining for a treble.
“It was a good day for the stable, with three winners, a second and a third at a city meeting,” said trainer Stuart Kendrick after Streak Of Winning ($5) scored by a half-length.
“Streak Of Winning did a terrific job, jumping from a Maiden win to a Benchmark 68,” Kendrick said.
“It is not easy to do that. He is a promising horse, and I think the more he races, the better he will get,” he said.
“He still has a lot to learn.”
Earlier, Divakara got the stable off to the perfect start with a win in race one, a Class 1 (1800m), as $1.40 favourite.
The four-year-old took his record to two wins and two seconds from five starts.
“He looks like a horse that wants to stay all day,” Kendrick said.
“He was solid and was going away at the end of the race, and should improve the further he goes,” he said.
The middle leg of the treble for Kendrick Racing and Wilson-Taylor was Nightstick ($6), which won a Benchmark 68 (1600m).
“Nightstick has been very consistent and it was a well-deserved city win for him,” Kendrick said.
“It was an excellent ride by Kyle,” he said.
“He took off at the right time, put the favourite back behind him, and held him off late.”
