IT seems the penny has dropped for Pinkus.
The three-year-old broke through at his seventh career start with a dominant front-running display in midweek city company at Doomben.
Ridden by apprentice Bailey Wheeler, Pinkus ($4.40) won a Maiden (1350m) on Wednesday, March 6.
“It was a well-deserved win for the owners,” said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
“He has been a little bit disappointing on the way through,” he said.
“I thought he would have won a maiden before now.
“Hopefully, the penny has dropped and I think riding him in front is the key.
“We’ll look to target a couple of three-year-old races over the next few weeks and see if he can continue to step up in grade.”
