THE real Sebring Girl showed up at the Sunshine Coast when she stormed home to break through second-up from a spell.
The four-year-old mare was unwanted by punters after a lacklustre first-up run when resuming at Ipswich and started a $21 chance on Anzac Day.
But ridden by apprentice Bailey Wheeler, she unleashed a strong finish from second-last at the 400-metre mark to get the bob in on the line to win a Benchmark 70 (1200m).
Trainer Stuart Kendrick said it was pleasing to see Sebring Girl bounce back to form.
“She trialled very well leading up to her first-up run but was disappointing at Ipswich,” Kendrick said.
“She then had a setback,” he said.
“The 1200 is short of her best but she showed a very good turn of foot to come from well back.
“She will now head back into town as she showed last prep she is capable of mixing it in that grade.”
