CONNECTIONS were not overly surprised when Master Showman swooped first-up for a metro win at Doomben.
“He won first-up last preparation, but looks bigger and stronger now,” said trainer Stuart Kendrick.
“It was a good return,” he said.
Master Showman ($16), ridden by Angela Jones, finished strongly to pinch the win in a Benchmark 85 (1200m) at on Saturday, February 8.
Last preparation, he won at Ipswich first-up at this first start for the stable after coming north and then followed that up with a metropolitan win at the Sunshine Coast second-up.
“He’s another tried horse that has done a great job,” Kendrick said.
“He could be a horse that suits a race like the Rocky Newmarket,” he said.
