Italian Dancer, ridden by Kyle Wilson-Taylor, completed the Friday night double.

PROMISING three-year-old Chaparral Chase is destined for bigger things after breaking through at his second career start.

Chaparral Chase ($1.65-fav), ridden by James Orman, produced a strong finishing burst to win a Maiden (1400m) at the Sunshine Coast Friday night meeting (October 11).

He had finished second over the same course and distance last month on debut.

“After doing plenty wrong at his first start he improved under a great ride by Jimmy Orman,” said trainer Stuart Kendrick.

“He will now head to a three-year-old in town next start,” he said.

Another promising three-year-old made it a winning double for the stable two races later.

Ridden by Kyle Wilson-Taylor, Italian Dancer ($1.45-fav) won a QTIS 3YO C&G Maiden (1400m) in a tight finish.

It was his fifth career start and he was resuming.

“Italian Dancer did a great job first up,” Kendrick said

“He was coming of one soft jumpout and was tough fighting off the challengers to win by a narrow margin,” he said.

“He should improve over further and hopefully step up to better class this time in.

“He was ridden by Kyle Wilson-Taylor, who has been in great form.”
